Warehouse 1 – Tasmania
The warehouse structure, constructed at St Leonards in Tasmania, comprises four LVL box-section portal frames and 2 framed end walls, spaced at 9.7 m and supporting composite LVL-ply I-section roof purlins.
Portal frame rafters are continuous over two spans (total 44.7 m) with 7.2 m rafter overhangs for the support of a canopy roof on one side.
Rafters are spliced using a circular pattern of close fitting steel dowels and bolts and the knee joints using an arrangement requiring only the fitting and tightening of four tension rods per knee joint for installation.
The total roof area is just under 2500 square metres.
The total structural system, including all steel components was modelled in Cadwork and supplied to site fully prefabricated ready for the site assembly process.
