St Andrews Church
Case studies index
Location:Gracemere, Central Queensland
Architect:Innovarchi Pty Ltd
Builder:Close Construction
Innovative segmented portal frames form the main design elements for this structure. The plantation grown LVL and plywood construction allowed lofty ceilings within the church, connecting to outer verandahs for other building functions.
St. Andrews expressed a desire for departure from the steeply pitched roof form of the European church towards a new model, more suited to the Australian climate, and lifestyle
The Timberbuilt Solution enabled rapid construction of the structure using a light crane and assembler trades. This minimised on-site costs.
The smooth curves of the building components show the precision achieved in Timberbuilt’s prefabrication.
